# The Hiring Manager’s shortcut to success

Congratulations! You’ve got headcount approval for a shiny new role. 🎉 Now what? Before you shout, “Find me a unicorn!” to your Talent Partner, let’s walk through the *actual* steps to remember before you scream from the rooftops.

## 1. Define the role

- Job Title: Keep it simple and understandable (no “Rockstar Gurus” please 🫣).
- Key Responsibilities: What will this person actually do all day?
- Skills & Experience: Must-haves and nice-to-haves.

📝 Pro Tip: If your job description is starting to sound like a wish list for Santa, scale it back and think about what *you* can also offer candidates, don’t skip out on the benefits!

## 2. Outline the process

Winging it might work for karaoke night, but not for hiring. 🙃

- Salary: No, you probably won’t secure an outstanding Senior Account Executive for 50k OTE. If you have no existing salary data, then lean on your Talent Partner to share market insights with you. 🤝
- Timeline: Hiring takes time. Factor in notice periods (often 3 months in Germany), and make sure to free up your calendar to accommodate those interviews your Talent Partner will be scheduling.

## 4. Communicate clearly

Your recruiter isn’t a mind reader (though we wish we were).

- Be clear about your feedback: *“Good fit”* isn’t helpful. Is it their skills? Culture? Communication?
- Respond quickly. Top candidates won’t wait forever while you “circle back.” 😉

## 5. Get ready to sell that role!

Remember, candidates are interviewing *you*, too.

- **Why should they join?** Exciting projects? Growth opportunities? Free snacks?
- **What’s your company culture really like?** Authenticity wins every time.

🎤 *Pro Tip:* “We’re a fast-paced environment” isn’t a selling point—it’s a red flag.
